Summer is Here

Ours is too big for our current dog
It's been unseasonably hot so I'm glad the gym has A/C and great water pressure in the shower. Today I test out some new earphones I bought from the gym last week. They were very popular over-the-ear style Avids, but I find them a tad painful. Funny, I never thought of myself as having big ears, but I am horribly sensitive to pressure, and the left earbud seems a tad tight. Ugh.

This is an excellent harness. But
we own the Large version for a dog
who has since passed on.
I'm tired. Yesterday my dog ruptured the other ACL. So now he's effectively crippled. I had to pick him up and carry him into the house once I realized that he wasn't able to make it up the ramp spanning the five slate steps to our front door. I have a butt-harness from when our last dog went lame from spinal issues, but she was bigger, and this harness doesn't quite fit, although it does the job. I'm able to hold my dog's hips steady as he walks so he can relieve himself outside. But he tires easily now.

I'm fairly certain it's a busted left ACL because he can stand okay, but not put any pressure on the leg just as he did with the right leg back in April. Later, I buy a different harness that fits a bit better, but I'm annoyed by all the heavy hardware that it really doesn't need. This smaller hip sling fits better (at least he's not pooping on himself), but isn't as well-made or (I'm guessing) as comfortable as the bigger harness. Different manufacturer and different design.

My cardio is better today because I use a different LifeFitness cross-trainer. Pull ups are really hard though. My forearms and elbows are tired. I lose count doing my warm up push ups. But I muscle through the Smith SLDLs and then do a few Split Squats just for fun. Because the more non-pulling moves I do before my next set of pull ups, the better. But my last set of pull ups still really sucks. Tomorrow I plan to whack the machine. And do a set of pull ups.
This looks like the one I got today

Still Got DOMS

I'll admit that I'm a bit surprised to still be experiencing DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) a day after a set of Walking Lunge...
