I did a set of pull-ups and then found a usable adjustable bench for the DB Shoulder workout. The gym was mostly empty until the HS let out and then filled with teenagers. I got a satisfying workout done and even managed to grit my teeth through a full two minutes of Wall Sits. I saved the Walking Lunges for tomorrow because it takes me almost 3 days to get over the soreness in my glutes and hamstrings. That soreness makes me feel old like nothing else.
Tomorrow I'll officially be a (gasp) Senior Citizen. I plan to go to the gym anyway, maybe do an Intervals program on the elliptical. I am looking forward to getting a specialty pizza from an out of the way pizzeria: clams, white sauce, garlic, spinach, bacon. I've been drooling over the thought of this for months now... My kid is carpooling home tomorrow and will be in late. No doubt they will have snacked since it's a 6-hour drive, but I'm sure leftover pizza will be welcomed cuz I can't eat a whole pie.
My kid is only home for a week for Spring Break so there's a lot of appointments, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to the gym. I do have a lot of corned beef in the fridge and freezer though, having taken advantage of the grocery store sales and limits. Got to buy when it's cheap and plentiful, cuz otherwise prices are insane. Do I sound like a Depression Era kid? I wasn't but I was raised by people who did survive all that...
