Rescheduled

I finally made it back to the gym. Tuesday I was scheduled to have a procedure at my eye doctor until I suddenly wasn't. Fifteen minutes before I was planning to leave the house, the office calls and asks to reschedule because my insurance company is giving them the run-around. Never mind that we'd gotten a cursory approval via computer last week. Apparently, when you get a rep on the phone, even if you're the doc, they put you on hold forever and can't give you an actual answer as to how much the procedure will cost the patient. The office feels they'll get an answer by end of the week and have rescheduled me for next week. So I missed my chance for the gym on Tuesday.

I planned to go Wednesday, but then my kid texted me that he was out of his acne medications, or soon would be. Never mind that he'll be home next week for Thanksgiving. Meds that need to be taken daily should not be interrupted. I had already refilled one Rx and just needed to get to the post office to ship it overnight express. Then my kid tells me that he just used the last of a different med so I needed to contact that pharmacy. Who then waited for permission from the doc's office. After a few hours, I had to call the doc's office with my best "I'm so annoyed" voice just to get them to look at the pharmacy request. Ugh.

Luckily, I got to the post office when it was empty and the clerk was able to help me with the paperwork. That literally took all morning. I don't go to the gym in the afternoon when it fills up with HS kids. There's no point when you can't get on the equipment because teens like to drape themselves in clusters while chatting on their phones.

Wind Breaker was already on elliptical #1. I got on #2. It clunks. I suppose I could've moved the cup holder to #3 and used that one. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow if I don't score the preferred machine. Barely made it to 2.8 but I got there. Had every intention of doing a full cardio day but I looked over at the free weight area and it was empty. And that is irresistible to someone looking for specific benches and DBs. So, suddenly, it's a Mixed Day: cardio & weights.

I get all my sets done. There are a few regulars working out on various benches. I don't see the Odd Couple. It's been raining all day, which is good considering the drought warning. Dogs went to the park earlier even though we were the only ones there. Dogs don't care. I don't care. I sat in the doorway of the equipment shed and the dogs ran around in the rain sniffing all the wet leaves and dirt. It hasn't rained in such a long time that there have been several wild fires, a very uncommon event here in NYS.

I have the Aerobics Room to myself mostly, and I get everything done that needs doing. Skip those Walking Lunges though 'cuz I'm planning on a Cardio & Pull-ups Day tomorrow. But I do grit my teeth through 2 minutes of Wall Sits.

High Maintenance

I'm very envious of those folks who can zip in and out of a shower and be done with changing into street clothes in less than 10 minutes...
