I love the internet: I looked up the repair shop and found mixed reviews regarding the upselling of services and parts. Instead, I opted to take my 15-yr old car to the dealership service shop the next day. That killed yesterday morning as the inspection takes about an hour. No problems found. NYS Inspection passed. I go home and do more research. On old message boards, I read complaints about lube shops failing vehicles because they've misinterpreted the parameters for torque needed in passenger vehicles. They're using guidelines that are applicable to trucks and commercial vehicles. Well, that makes sense.
Today, the Fourth of July, my gym is open from 7 to 1 pm. I took dogs to the park and they happily met other doggy friends. Then drove my kid to their shift and myself to the gym. It was not the Goldilocks moment. The gym wasn't really crowded, but three out of four elliptical machines were occupied by women I've never seen before. And the cross-trainers had a few guys on them as well. I got on the closest cross-trainer and set it for 20 minutes, which is the max time I can do before my toes go horribly numb. It's enough for me to bust a good sweat but this machine tends to impede my pull-up ability.
I get a satisfactory set of pull-ups and then find one of the Nautilus benches to do my DB chest and shoulder routine. It's moderately crowded with some kids and their dads. School is out, after all and it's a holiday. It's the Fourth of July, but no one is really celebrating. I have time today so I can also spend time in the Aerobics Room; there's no Senior class to get in the way. I manage to finish with a quick shower just as the gym closes.
