I haven't exercised since Monday so today is good for a cardio day with pull-ups. I'll do the mix set tomorrow. I saw my glaucoma doc on Tuesday, and she was happy with my IOPs being at 13-14, down from 17. It means the Durysta implants are working and she might take me off one more drop in a few months if the pressures stay steady. Of course, I had texted with my brother earlier and he told me his IOPs were down to 9. Nine! I've never gotten my pressures under 10 ever!
I'm happy I managed to push myself over the 2.8 mark on the Precor. And squeeze out enough pull-ups to make it past 12. I think everyone sets these internal challenges for themselves. After the second set of pull-ups, I briefly debate (with myself) whether to use the LifeFitness or the Octane cross-trainer. There's only one guy on the LifeFitness so it's not crowded, and I choose machine #1 which overlooks the "functional gym" section. My toes haven't gone numb using this in a while and I suspect it might be dependent on which sneakers I happen to be wearing. I have favorites, and they are New Balances. The Hokas are okay but not nearly as comfortable. I do have weird, sensitive, difficult fee and if your feet hurt, well, the whole world sucks.
It's been unseasonably warm for the past several days. Still slathering on petrolatum to prevent cold hives on my thighs, but the fissures keep forming on my fingertips. Which makes it painful to handle a lot of things without gloves on. Today temps reached 46F, but the weather app says it'll drop to 12 in a few days. Ugh. Well, it is still Winter.
I've finally started watching the new medical show that's gotten a lot of rave reviews, and I have to say that yes, I'm hooked. The Pitt is really good. But I really like medical shows anyway. (Of course, I also like crime shows -- watching a lot of dubbed Danish/Swedish cop shows. Murder in a Small Town is dedicated to Donald Sutherland and not Nordic.) But my history goes as far back to Ben Casey, Dr. Kildare, Marcus Welby MD, Medical Center, and ER of course. Not really much of a St. Elsewhere fan, but I did love MASH. I've watched the entirety of The Good Doctor, Saving Hope, the Korean Ghost Doctor, The Resident, and New Amsterdam. And no, I've never watched Grey's Anatomy or General Hospital.
I'm hoping to make it to the gym tomorrow... ooooh, that'd make it 3 times this week!
